Originally by: phi norm I wrote a short piece on my observations of eve when I was a month old; it was reasonably well received so IÆm back, after 2, but this time for help and adviceà.
IÆve hit a wall, IÆve done the agent grindààI have my raven and I can do level 4Æsààyes the same ones over and over and overààà
Mining tis not for meàà.I tried hauling/tradingààà.
I thought a move to less secure space was the answeràà.maybe a bit of pvp would liven things upà.so I took my 1m skill points and my scorp to <0.4. my first encounter was something of a disappointment. I picked a 0.3 system with a number of people with negative security status. Jumped around the belts to find no-one, so sat in one sporadically killing the poor npc rats that spawned. Then some excitement, 2 people jumped into the belt, a kessie and a raven. Woohoo here we go, they target me I wait for there reaction, engage my hardeners, they close on me, I still wait, they warp out!!!!! Maybe I should have shot firstà..i donÆt know what they thought, couldnÆt be bothered to ask them or bait them in local. Ho humàà.
So what now I ask you, where do I go? My corp are a good bunch of people we joined eve at the same time, but im bored of agent running the same old missions, even the level 4Æs. ive gone back to my kessie fitted it with rockets and now help friends on there lvl 2Æs and 3Æs just for some funààbut even thatà..well I set some long skills and the last few nights have been back to cs:s to look at the new maps.
The game seems to promise lots but I canÆt find it at the moàà.if its not there IÆll leave which I donÆt want to do because I feel I still havenÆt seen all it has to offerà..
Some sensible guidance would be much appreciated please.
Phi norm,
The empty pit in your stomache that is causing you to lose interest in day to day activities is something I experienced as well. It was only after running into the freedom fighters that I truly began to understand why it was there. When i first heard of their cause to free our Minmatar brothers & sisters from the clutches of the Amarrian slavers, I was heavily invested in to a ship construction business. I began immediately to build ships for these noble warriors at no profit to myself, even though they often argued I deserved to make some profit for my efforts. It was not long before I closed up shop, packed my things & became a freedom fighter myself. We fight the oppressors daily. Sometimes defending CVA raids into our territory, as they come to quell "the slave rabble uprising" as they so eloquently have named us. Other times we perform our own raids.. on slave auctions or slave transfers or sometimes just to disrupt their activities, so that slavery isn't quite as profitble as it once was for these 'people'.. ( & I use the word very loosely ).
The small corporation I originally joined has grown into a large roleplay alliance now. My corp, The Masuat'aa Matari, & our alliance, the Ushra'Khan, work, mine, build, run missions, & play with every facet of eve gameplay every day. We do it together. As a family. Our shared goal keeps us working together even when we often disagree. We supply corporation insured frigates, destroyers, & cruisers to our members at no cost. In this way we can ensure that those of us with smaller wallets can still do their part to further our cause of freedom & liberty for all Minmatar. Whatever it is that you do well, or whatever it is that you wish to do, you can do with us, & know that your efforts contribute to a greater goal. The hours spent mining or earning isk trading or even the battles you fight, for those of us lucky enough to have found each other, all have a greater meaning & sense of accomplishment, than they ever did before. We never require anyone to do anything or turn over any isk to the corporation or alliance. All are always welcome to do as they please, & help us if & when they please.
I encourage you to check us out. We are based in Istodard, a nice little system in the Molden Heath region. feel free to contact me in game if you have questions. I'm usually online in the evenings every day ( EST ). I sympathise with your dilemna & wish you the best of luck, whatever your choice. you have a family, you have a purpose, you have a place with us accomplishing a grand goal.. we're here & the task is at hand. The decision is yours, brother phi.
